Use with ChatGPT

This guide is for ChatGPT on the web at chatgpt.com. The ChatGPT mobile apps do not support custom MCP connections, and a web result does not apply to them.

  1. Add Nettipoika in ChatGPT

    Open ChatGPT’s Plugins page, choose Add and then Add custom MCP server. Enter Nettipoika as the name and paste the address below into Server URL. ChatGPT detects sign-in (OAuth) by itself; no advanced settings are needed.

    Read ChatGPT’s risk notice, select I understand and want to continue and then Create as a plugin.

  2. Sign in and approve your websites

    Choose Continue to Nettipoika in ChatGPT. Sign in to Nettipoika with the code sent to your email. Nettipoika asks you to sign in again even if you already are; this makes sure the website owner approves. Check the website address and allow ChatGPT to manage the websites in your account.

  3. Start working in ChatGPT

    Choose Try in chat on the plugin page, or type @Nettipoika in the composer. First ask: “Check my Nettipoika website.” Then try: “Update my website’s opening hours.” ChatGPT may ask to open your site in its cloud browser to check it. It asks separately for each new website and waits for your answer, so keep the chat in view. The plugin’s Permission setting decides whether ChatGPT asks before changes; with the default “Allow low-risk” it publishes the changes you ask for without asking again.

Pictures from the chat

Attach a picture in the ChatGPT chat and ask for it on your website. ChatGPT adds a small picture (under about 750 KB) straight from the chat. For a larger picture ChatGPT may upload it from its own workspace or give you an upload link: open the link, choose the same picture, upload it and paste the page’s ready message back into the chat. ChatGPT makes a web-sized copy and publishes it. The picture stays private until it is published.

Tested on DEV on 7 October 2026: a 245 KB PNG straight from the chat, a 2 MB PNG both from ChatGPT’s workspace and through the upload link.

If connecting fails

  • ChatGPT’s sign-in settings can’t be edited later. If you changed the advanced settings, delete the plugin and add it again following this guide.
  • If ChatGPT shows an invalid_scope error, open Advanced OAuth settings when adding the plugin and leave only openid and offline_access under OIDC scopes supported. Nettipoika does not share your email or other personal details with ChatGPT.
  • If your sign-in expires, choose Connect for Nettipoika in ChatGPT’s Plugins settings and approve your websites again. Your website work is preserved.

Good to know

Your ChatGPT plan and your Nettipoika website subscription are separate. Custom MCP plugins need a paid ChatGPT plan; check your own account in ChatGPT.

Disconnect ChatGPT from your website’s agent connections in Nettipoika. Your website stays online and other assistants keep their own access.
